I am typing this by the light and warmth of our first fire for the season. It has finally been cold enough for several days in a row. Yippee! The advent season is coming! Tomorrow is Christ the King and then we are officially in advent. I picked up my advent Magnificat and looked at the "Jesse Tree" stuff. I am going to do some more research on the Jesse tree--see if I want to do that this year. If any of you have done the Jesse tree, comment and let me know your thoughts/experiences.
Tomorrow is also my Dad's birthday--the big "6-0". I called him today and talk with him for a bit. He is doing well. Still thinks he is "getting out of here soon", but of course he is not. I miss my Dad, the way he used to be. This is a horrible disease. But my Dad still loves me, I know that. And he loves his grandkids, always asks after them. Planning on calling him tomorrow and having the kids sing him "Happy Birthday". We are driving down to Sugar Land on Tuesday, after Jacek gets out of school. I am hoping to see my Dad at least a couple times while I am down.
Also trying to get a head start on Christmas presents...online shopping seems like the way to go for me.
Other good news: I am done teaching Pulleys and Levers--the physics unit is almost done--THANK GOD. I am not a physics person, I do my best...but I don't have the natural gift/love/sickness that physics people have. Can't wait till we start our human body unit...dissections, diseases--that that is my kinda unit!
