  • Quite the Busy Day

Yesterday was a landmark day on many accounts:

    1. It was the "100 Day of School": A VERY big deal in kindergarten. Jacek and I counted 100 chocolate chips to send to school for their "trail mix" (all the kids are counting 100 of something (cheerios, marshmallows, raisins, etc) to add to the mix.

    2. Lejb ate his own poop. Marek went in to get him in the morning, and discovered this.

    3. Katja has been wearing underware and had no accidents at school for 3 days straight...she seems to have the potty thing down

    4. Jacek lost his first tooth. Today he is holding his dollar bill and chewing some bubble gum the Tooth Fairy brough him.

A very eventful day for sure!!

In other news, Marek is working like mad on his thesis--both the film and the written portion. Less the two months left. Say some prayers for all of us!! He is doing really well and just needs to keep going.

Well, kids want me change the tv channel! Bye!

  • 8 Great Years

Today is our 8th Wedding Anniversary. I love my husband and love the life we have built together. To celebrate, Marek brought me lunch to school (Chili's) and then we had steak dinners from Outback for dinner--two restaurant meals in one day, I am so spoiled! It is a great time to look back and remember and also to look forward in anticipation of what fun/craziness is ahead of us now!

  • The Tree is Up!

We put the Christmas tree up lastnight...The kids "helped"...but we had to put Katja to bed early because the was a walking zombie. She has been on a "No Nap" kick...and by the end of the day she is all over the place. We planned on going to the St. Nick party at church, but with The Katj-Zombie and Lejb going to bed at 6:30 we didn't quiet make it.  I love hanging the orniments on the tree and looking back and remembering each year. I have most of our Christmas gifts bought...just a few left to pick up, hopefully I'll get that done this week...and then just enjoy the Advent Season!

  • Ramblings

I am typing this by the light and warmth of our first fire for the season. It has finally been cold enough for several days in a row. Yippee! The advent season is coming! Tomorrow is Christ the King and then we are officially in advent. I picked up my advent Magnificat and looked at the "Jesse Tree" stuff. I am going to do some more research on the Jesse tree--see if I want to do that this year. If any of you have done the Jesse tree, comment and let me know your thoughts/experiences.

Tomorrow is also my Dad's birthday--the big "6-0". I called him today and talk with him for a bit. He is doing well. Still thinks he is "getting out of here soon", but of course he is not. I miss my Dad, the way he used to be. This is a horrible disease. But my Dad still loves me, I know that. And he loves his grandkids, always asks after them. Planning on calling him tomorrow and having the kids sing him "Happy Birthday". We are driving down to Sugar Land on Tuesday, after Jacek gets out of school. I am hoping to see my Dad at least a couple times while I am down.

Also trying to get a head start on Christmas presents...online shopping seems like the way to go for me.

Other good news: I am done teaching Pulleys and Levers--the physics unit is almost done--THANK GOD. I am not a physics person, I do my best...but I don't have the natural gift/love/sickness that physics people have. Can't wait till we start our human body unit...dissections, diseases--that that is my kinda unit!
